Ingredients
1 lb Ground Turkey
1 tbsp Olive Oil
1/2 cup Onion, finely diced
2 cloves Garlic, minced
1/2 cup Carrots or Zucchini, finely shredded
1 cup Sharp Cheddar Cheese, shredded
12 Slider Buns (Brioche or potato)
1 tsp Herb blend (thyme, oregano, and salt)
Instructions
Heat the olive oil in a wide skillet over medium heat.
Add the diced onions to the skillet and sauté until translucent.
Stir in the minced garlic and the finely shredded vegetables, cooking for three minutes to soften.
Add the ground turkey, stirring frequently to break it into small crumbles.
Season with the herb blend and salt, cooking until the meat reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
Remove from heat and fold in half the shredded cheddar cheese until slightly melted.
Slice the slider buns in half and distribute the turkey mixture evenly on the bottom buns.
Top with remaining cheese and close the buns.
Serve room temperature or store in air-tight containers for later use.
Notes
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. These can be served cold, at room temperature, or briefly warmed before packing if preferred. Finely shredding the vegetables is key to keeping the texture consistent for picky eaters.
