Ingredients
4 cups all-purpose flour
2.25 tsp active dry yeast
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
3 tbsp fresh sage, finely minced
1 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
3 cloves garlic, finely minced
1 tsp onion powder
1.5 cups warm water (110F)
1.5 tsp sea salt
Instructions
Combine warm water and yeast in a mixing bowl until dissolved.
Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture and stir until a shaggy dough forms.
Knead dough on a floured surface for 8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let rise for 60 minutes.
Roll the proofed dough into a large rectangle on a floured surface.
Combine melted butter, garlic, sage, and onion powder, then brush evenly over the dough.
Sprinkle the grated Parmesan generously over the buttered surface.
Cut the dough into 2-inch squares.
Stack the squares vertically in a greased loaf pan.
Bake at 375F for 35 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
Notes
Ensure the water temperature is exactly 110F to activate the yeast without killing it. For an even richer crust, brush the top with a little extra melted butter immediately after removing the loaf from the oven. Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat briefly to restore the soft texture.
