Ingredients
Ground Chicken (fresh thigh or breast meat)
Lettuce
Tomato
Sesame seed buns (toasted)
Yellow onion
Mayonnaise (optional substitution: chipotle in adobo sauce)
Plain breadcrumbs
Minced garlic or garlic powder
Instructions
Blanch the grated onion in boiling water for 2 minutes, drains and squeezes to remove excess moisture
Combine ground chicken, breadcrumbs, onions, garlic, and 0.5 tsp salt in a bowl. Press and fold mixture with cold hands
Divide into 4 equal portions. Shape into 1″-thick patties with a slight dome
Chill patties for 10 minutes
Heat a non-stick pan over medium-high heat, add patties and cook 4-5 minutes per side or until internal temperature reaches 165°F
Top with lettuce, tomato slices, and vegan nutritional yeast (optional) on warmed sesame buns
Notes
