Description

These handheld savory pockets are the ultimate comfort food for busy schedules. By combining tender, seasoned shredded chicken with melted cheese and fresh vegetables inside a buttery, flaky crescent dough, you create a satisfying restaurant-quality meal. Perfect for quick family dinners or lunch boxes, these pockets are easy to assemble and bake to golden perfection, offering a balanced, hearty, and kid-friendly dining experience without requiring hours in the kitchen.

Ingredients

Scale

2 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded
2 cans crescent roll dough
1 tbsp olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 medium onion, diced
1 cup mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, or broccoli)
1.5 cups shredded cheddar, mozzarella, or Monterey Jack cheese
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried parsley
1 tsp black pepper

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Sauté the onions and minced garlic until translucent and fragrant.
Add the shredded chicken and mixed vegetables to the pan.
Season with oregano, parsley, and black pepper, cooking for five minutes to integrate flavors.
Remove the mixture from heat and fold in one cup of shredded cheese until creamy.
Unroll the crescent dough and separate the triangles on a baking sheet.
Place a generous tablespoon of the chicken mixture in the center of each triangle.
Fold the corners of the dough over the filling and pinch the edges to seal.
Top each pocket with the remaining cheese.
Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown and flaky.

Notes

Use rotisserie chicken to save prep time. Ensure crescent dough is kept well-chilled until the moment of assembly to maintain a flaky texture. These pockets reheat exceptionally well in an air fryer at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 3-5 minutes.
