Description

Cheeseburger pasta casserole combines the iconic flavors of a classic American burger with the satisfying heartiness of a pasta bake. This one-dish meal features lean ground turkey, al dente pasta, and a savory cheese sauce that appeals to picky eaters and busy families alike. By blending these familiar comfort food profiles, this recipe offers a reliable, kid-friendly dinner solution for hectic weeknights that is both nutritious and incredibly comforting.

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb Ground Turkey
16 oz Pasta (Rotini or Penne)
1 medium Onion, finely diced
3 cloves Garlic, minced
1 cup Bell Peppers, diced
2 cups Cheddar Cheese, shredded
1.5 cups Tomato Sauce (no sugar added)
1 tsp Dried Oregano
0.5 cup Beef-style broth (Halal certified)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and grease a large 9×13 inch baking dish.
Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the pasta for two minutes less than package instructions.
Drain the pasta thoroughly and set it aside.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the ground turkey with the diced onions and bell peppers.
Sauté the mixture until the turkey is fully browned and the vegetables have softened.
Stir in the minced garlic and dried oregano, cooking for one minute until fragrant.
Pour in the tomato sauce and beef-style broth, allowing the mixture to simmer for five minutes to thicken.
Combine the cooked pasta with the turkey mixture in the baking dish and toss well.
Top with the shredded cheddar cheese.
Bake for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.

Notes

Ensure the pasta is slightly undercooked before baking to prevent it from becoming mushy in the sauce. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave.
