A simple, crowd-pleasing appetizer that balances creamy, tangy, and herbaceous flavors with colorful presentation.

Ingredients

Scale

12 cherry tomatoes
12 mini mozzarella balls (bocconcini)
1215 fresh basil leaves
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 tbsp balsamic glaze or balsamic vinegar (non-alcohol)
1 pinch salt
Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

Rinse cherry tomatoes and pat dry with a clean towel
Drain and gently blot mini mozzarella balls with paper towels
Tuck basil leaves between paper towels or a damp cloth to keep fresh
Place balsamic glaze in a small squeeze bottle
Alternate threading cherry tomatoes, mozzarella balls, and basil leaves onto toothpicks
Lightly drizzle olive oil over each skewer and sprinkle with sea salt and black pepper
Finish by drizzling balsamic glaze before serving

Notes

Use heirloom tomatoes for a visual upgrade
Substitute mozzarella with burrata for a richer texture
Replace basil with mint or arugula for seasonal variation
